AFRICAN CHILD FOUNDATION (“ACF”) is a Christian ministry in Kenya, motivated by faith in Jesus Christ to serve the poor in spirit, body and mind --- especially, orphans, and vulnerable children and women. Our mission is to answer the call of HIS discipleship to combat the global pandemic of HIV/AIDS and famine that confronts children orphaned by AIDS daily through prayer, financial gifts and dedicated hands-on involvement.

Every day 6,000 children are orphaned by AIDS. Worldwide, 15 million orphans are struggling to survive on their own --- with little hope of ever escaping poverty. This virulent epidemic has devastated an entire generation of children.

The Director and Founder of ACF, Father Henry Simaro knows the daily struggle of hopelessness and despair. Rescued at age 17 by St. Patrick missionaries, young Henry was completely transformed through the provision of a safe haven, an education, and a spiritual foundation by the Kiltegan Father. These experiences of God’s unconditional love called Henry to a religious life and a life-long mission to care for orphaned children and women, decimated by HIV/AIDS and poverty. Through YOUR generosity over the last two years, Fr.Henry has realized, in part, God’s mission by drilling two water wells, providing mobile medical care to nine villages outside of Nairobi, and more importantly, provides basic needs to 300 young orphaned children.

But much more is desperately needed for Father Henry to fully realize God’s mission, thatis --- to provide the opportunity for a sustainable, independent life for these HIV afflicted orphans and vulnerable children and women. In Kenya today, there is no government-recognized crisis center for HIV/AIDS orphans and young women outside of itsmajor cities. A secondary education and vocation training in Kenya constitutes a privelege because tuition and related costs are borne by the families of the children, soley.
